Loco was withdrawn 4/11/1963, but was saved for preservation, initially being located on the Meon Valley line at Droxford. It was then put on static display on Hayling Island before being purchased in 1979 by Isle of Wight Steam Railway, where it remains, as W8 ‘Freshwater’
